(Dec. 19, 2008) Permlight for Signs™ next-generation Twister Nitro™ LED module offers customers the most versatility for brightness – equal to 60 mA neon – and a flurry of color options, including four whites and a blue. With a compact design, 1 by one-half inch, and ability to achieve optimum brightness levels, the Nitro is the brightest LED module for its size. Its brightness levels allow customers the flexibility to use it in small or large sign applications.

Nitro leverages Permlight’s patented thermal management technology, which offers application flexibility and a reduced overall carbon footprint. Because Nitro consumes about three Watts per linear foot, versus 5.3 to 7.1 Watts per foot of neon, it can offer a dramatic 48 percent reduction in energy consumption. Additionally, LED-based lighting is friendlier for the environment due to the absence of hazardous mercury typically found in neon and fluorescent options.

Permlight for Signs’ entire line of LED sign modules simplify compliance with California’s Title 22 regulation, which legislates that the disposal of any hazardous waste such as mercury, which is contained in most neon and fluorescent lamps, is illegal.
